Name Reference[]

"Her name could also be a reference to the widow maker heart attack."

Is this based on anything other then the fact that it's called a "widow maker". Because there's dozens of things called that, from cars to planes to debris on a tree branch. Not to mention several other fictional characters, given that it just implies a killer. --172.98.67.13 22:12, 15 January 2017 (UTC)

True. I think I'll just remove it. - TheModster (talk) 22:30, 15 January 2017 (UTC)

Grappling Hook specifics[]

I think there should definitely be some clarification in the "behavior" field of the Grappling Hook. I was thinking: Auto-aims at convient places to go to (usually the very top of ledges). If the hook does not latch into anything, this ability does not go into cooldown. If it latches on, Widowmaker will be pulled into that direction at increasing speed, and finally lose all momentum, if she reaches her destination. This pulling movement can be cancelled with the jump button.

It might also be worth noting that she can make a significant leap, if she aims the grappling upwards at a ledge, and cancels the pull at the last moment, when she travels fastest. -- 82.173.55.31 17:57, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

Widow's Kiss: Sniper specifics[]

Minor concern about how damage scaling is described. The sniper rifle does NOT multiply base damage by the percentage. Widow's damage doesn't start at 0, it starts at 12, therefore 0% shot does not deal 0 damage, it deals 12 damage. That's 108 damage to accumulate in .75 seconds, meaning we have an damage accumulation of 1.44 damage per .01 seconds passed. This linear interpolation means that at 50%, the shot deals 65-66 damage. Not the 60 damage at 50% as theorized and written in the page.

Also, the talk about damage boosts multiplying the charge by 10 is complete nonsense. The damage boosts from Ana, Mercy, and Zen are +50%, +30%, and +30% respectively. If her base shot deals 120 fully charged, then you add 60 from Nanoboost, 36 damage from Mercy, and multiply that by 1.3x for Zen damageboost.

Can someone correct this?

Also, could someone correct the mistake about the damage per percentage point of a Widowmaker shot? It increases by 1.44 damage per centisecond (0.01 seconds passed).

However, charging takes 0.75 seconds, so it should be 1.08 damage per percentage point. -10/27/18

Trivia[]

It says that she is voiced by the same VA in both English and French, making her the only character to share the same VA in different languages. This is not true. Mei's VA voices Mei in Chinese (simplified). Mochahh (talk) 05:10, 10 September 2017 (UTC)

So, in this section:

[...] an old French superstition that goes "Araignée du matin, chagrin; araignée du soir, espoir". Directly translated it means, "Spider in the morning, grief; spider in the evening, hope." A more literal translation is "If you see a spider in the morning, it's bad luck. If you see a spider in the evening, it's good luck."
~ About her tattoo, emphasis mine

...isn't the second part less literal? I don't speak french, but I assume "chagrin" (which is even a loanword in english) and "espoir" are 'literally' grief and hope. The second translation seems to more loosely describe the sentiment of the saying.

Damage?[]

"Damage: 120 fully charged"

"82% charge is the minimum required to one hit kill 250 health unarmored heroes with a critical shot."

So it's 250 damage fully charged, right??

Widow's Kiss (SMG) Infobox[]

It should say "fallof range" and not "Max. range". No idea how to fix this though.

Devistate[]

"Devistate" is not a word. "Devastate" is. Looks like a blunder
