Blizzard World is a Hybrid map in Overwatch. Released on 23 January 2018, making it the 24th map added to the game.

The 2018 Winter Wonderland event added a Christmas-themed version of Blizzard World.[2]

The park was built in Irvine, California, and is themed around the worlds of Blizzard Entertainment.[3] It is connected to the hyperloop line.[4] Recently, some of its rides were shut down due to the weather.[5]
Gameplay[ | ]
The map starts off with a payload in the Warcraft staging area. The defenders start in the Heroes Arcade, while attackers spawn in the Hearthstone Tavern. The attackers have to push the payload along into the StarCraft section of the theme park, which is a circular plaza with an upper level of bridges and walkways. Here, as with the Warcraft section, taking the high ground is the key to victory. The payload enters the Diablo area last, which consists of numerous smashable barrels.

Blizzard World ticket
- The logo may be representative of a murloc from World of Warcraft.
- The map is an in-universe representation of Blizzard Entertainment's IPs. The concept can be seen as a parody/homage of Disneyland and other similar theme parks.
- The park has been referred to as "the most epic place on Earth."[5] This possibly references the Disneyland tagline, "the happiest place on Earth."
- Near the starting zone, in the "Lost and Found Vikings" area, players can find a green book entitled "The Green Hills of Stranglethorn", which is a quest designed by Jeff Kaplan, back when he was a quest designer on World Of Warcraft. This quest is, according to him, the worst thing he ever designed.
- In the Heroes Arcade (the first spawn room for the defenders), screens with leaderboards on them can be seen, with 3-character usernames which represent Overwatch characters. 1st is SMB which stands for Sombra, with 9999 points (as she is a hacker), 2nd is DVA (standing for D.Va), highest normal score as she is supposed to be a professional gamer, 3rd is JRT, standing for Junkrat, and 4th is S76, standing for Soldier: 76.
Development[ | ]
- The idea for the map came from BlizzCon 2015, when Chris Metzen discussed the idea of a Blizzard-themed park. The idea for a map based on such an idea was taken up by the developers.[3]
- The map was announced at BlizzCon 2017 on November 3, 2017 and was added to the PTR on November 20, 2017.[6] The map went live on all consoles on January 23, 2018[7]
