Dae-hyun Park[2][3] is a member of South Korea's Mobile Exo-Force, working as a mechanic assigned specifically to Hana Song.[4]

Story[edit | edit source]

It's like how we used to stay up late, and work on your hoverbike.
You mean the one you wrecked?
Really? You're still mad about that? We won the race!
Yeah! And you almost killed yourself!
~ Dae-hyun and Hana

Dae-hyun is a childhood friend of Hana Song. The two used to stay up all night working on his hoverbike. At some point Hana entered a race with it, winning said race, but destroying the bike in the process due to its reactor overloading.

Some time later he would join MEKA with her, taking on a support role.[5]

Shooting Star[edit | edit source]

Oh man. This time off is great, isn't it?
What's not to like? There's delicious food, and drinks...
And good friends. The kind that are always there for you-- when you need them most.
~ Dae-hyun and Hana after the Gwishin attack

A week after Hana and her MEKA squad defeated a group of Gwishin omnics, Hana was still working on her mech, despite Dae-hyun pointing out that the Gwishin wouldn't be back for months, and that she needed a break. That it was okay to ask for help. The first assertion was quickly rendered false however, as the MEKA base's radar picked up Gwishin moving on Busan. Hana launched in her mech, despite Dae-hyun exclaiming that she couldn't take them on alone, and that they should wait for the rest of the squad. Hana pointed out that they wouldn't arrive in time, and managed to destroy all but one of the Gwishin. However, it entangled her mech and disabled her weapons, carrying her along as it approached Busan. Hana, much to Dae-hyun's surprise, called for help. Help that he provided as he informed her that her mech's reactor was becoming unstable. That gave her the idea to overload it in a bid to destroy the omnic. As risky as it was, the alternative was letting thousands of people die.

Getting back to work

Dae-hyun relented and remotely triggered the reactor's self-destruct sequence. However, the sixty second countdown was too long (in that the omnic would reach Busan before the mech detonated). Thus, Hana ejected and used her pistol to trigger the mech's reactor, destroying both it and the omnic. She hit the water hard, but was retrieved by helicopter. Dae-hyun accompanied her to the hospital. She survived, but suffered a broken leg and arm. Not that that stopped her from beginning work on a new mech alongside Dae-hyun, whom she acknowledged as a good friend. One who'd been there for her when she'd needed him most.[5]
