~ Dae-hyun and Hana after the Gwishin attack |
A week after Hana and her MEKA squad defeated a group of Gwishin omnics, Hana was still working on her mech, despite Dae-hyun pointing out that the Gwishin wouldn't be back for months. He insisted that she needed a break and that it was okay to ask for help. The first assertion was quickly rendered false, however, as the MEKA base's radar picked up Gwishin moving on Busan. Hana launched in her mech, despite Dae-hyun exclaiming that she couldn't take them on alone, and that they should wait for backup. Hana pointed out that they wouldn't arrive in time, and managed to destroy all but one of the Gwishin. However, it entangled her mech and disabled her weapons, carrying her along as it approached Busan. Hana, much to Dae-hyun's surprise, called for help. Gathering himself, he informed her that her mech's reactor was becoming unstable. That gave her the idea to overload it in a bid to destroy the omnic. As risky as it was, the alternative was letting thousands of people die.
After briefly protesting, Dae-hyun relented and managed to remotely trigger a reactor overload that would explode in sixty seconds, but Hana realized that the omnic would reach Busan by then. Thus, Hana ejected and used her light gun to shoot the exposed reactor, destroying both it and the omnic. She hit the ocean hard but was retrieved by helicopter. Dae-hyun accompanied her to the hospital. She survived but suffered a broken leg and arm. She didn't let that stop her from assisting Dae-hyun with the assembly of her new mech during her medical leave. She acknowledged him as a good friend, one who'd been there for her when she'd needed him most.[5]
