The Egyptian National Police is the law enforcement body of Egypt.
The police were kept busy in Cairo, dealing with crime. However, they couldn't move against Abdul Hakim and his crime organization, whom the police simply ignored, or were paid off to look the other way. However, they did engage in a pursuit of the two vigilantes who ended up bringing Hakim to justice, Egyptian media forcing the government's hand.[1]
Not long afterwards, the police helped in the aftermath of Talon's attack on the Temple of Anubis, which had resulted in numerous civilian casualties.[2]
