Alchemist (Ana) and Archer (Hanzo)
- Archer: What difference is the between the Witch's magic and your alchemy?
- Alchemist: Alchemy is a science. Her magic? Is something darker.
- Archer: You say you do science. The good Dr. Junkenstein would profess the same.
- Alchemist: Science is a tool and a method. The hand that wields it decides its course.
- Archer: I sense that you and the Soldier have history together.
- Alchemist: Indeed. And much of it unhappy. / Alchemist: This is not our first battle together. And not the last. Unless he does something foolish.
- Alchemist: I once met a man who could summon a dragon as you do.
- Archer: Impossible! Only my clan possesses the skill. My brother could, but he is dead.
- Alchemist: What reason brings you to travel so far from home?
- Archer: I was banished from my home for taking my brother's life. I can never return.
Alchemist (Ana)
and Gunslinger (Cassidy)
- Alchemist: We must stop these abominations created in the name of science.
- Gunslinger: You have your cause, I'm looking for a good fight.
(Junkenstein's Monster is about to be revealed)
- Alchemist: Do you think this was the last of them?
- Gunslinger: Something tells me the worst is yet to come.
- Alchemist: You do not trust my alchemy, do you?
- Gunslinger: All due respect, witchcraft and magic potions are no match for a good six shooter.
- Gunslinger: Not sure how I feel about this alchemy nonsense. Seems like hocus-pocus to me.
- Alchemist: I could leave you to die if you prefer.
- Gunslinger: I can tell you and the Soldier have some history together.
- Alchemist: Indeed. And much of it unhappy. / Alchemist: This is not our first battle together. And not the last. Unless he does something foolish.
Alchemist (Ana)
and Soldier (Soldier: 76)
(Game start)
- Soldier: A soldier, an alchemist, an archer and... an oddity. A motley group we have assembled here.
- Alchemist: Just as it has always been, you attract strange companions.
- Soldier: It's time to finish this fight, old friend.
- Alchemist: Let us hope we have the strength to see it through.
- Alchemist: If we survive the night, this should be our last battle.
- Soldier: No, I cannot rest until we have justice!
- Alchemist: Why fight for this lord, you have never cared much for the nobility
- Soldier: It is true, but today we share a common foe, the Reaper
(The Reaper is eliminated)
- Soldier: The Reaper is a fearsome foe, he may still get the better of us.
- Alchemist: I will get us home safe, as I always do.
Archer (Hanzo) and Soldier (Soldier: 76)
- Archer: Do you think the doors will hold?
- Soldier: The doors are not what I'm concerned about.
- Soldier: What drives a man to such madness?
- Archer: To be tested. And to fail.
- Soldier: Surely Dr. Junkenstein must be running out of his machines.
- Archer: He strikes me as a man who had too many free hours to invest in his pursuits.
(The Reaper is eliminated)
- Archer: What sort of monster do you think the Reaper is?
- Soldier: The worst kind there is, a wicked man.
Archer (Hanzo) and Gunslinger (Cassidy)
- Gunslinger: What's home like for you, Archer?
- Archer: A village, high atop a hill. There are cherry blossoms in the spring. I miss it dearly.
- Archer: My people would call you a ronin. A masterless samurai.
- Gunslinger: Ronin? I like the sound of that.
- Gunslinger: You're not bad with a bow, but don't you think it's a little old fashioned?
- Archer: Perhaps there is still a future for anachronisms.
- Gunslinger: You ever heard of Robin Hood?
- Archer: Indeed. We have our own version - Ishikawa Goemon. He was boiled alive.
- Gunslinger: You think this lord’s good for the money? Castle looks like it’s seen better days.
- Archer: If he breaks his word, he has made some powerful enemies.
- Gunslinger: Hey, Archer, what say you pass that flask around so we can all have a drink? This is thirsty work.
- Archer: We drink when the job is done.
- Gunslinger: Doesn't seem to be any end to the monsters.
- Archer: Let them come. I could always use the practice.
- Archer: Getting tired, Gunslinger?
- Gunslinger: Not a chance.
Gunslinger (Cassidy) and Monk (Zenyatta)
- Monk: Some believe that the full moon is a good omen.
- Gunslinger: Maybe... If you are a werewolf.
- Gunslinger: Are you some sort of holy man?
- Monk: Simply a traveler, in search for purpose and meaning,
- Gunslinger: Aren't we all?
Gunslinger (Cassidy) and Shield-maiden (Brigitte)
- Gunslinger: Have you ever faced a dragon?
- Shield-maiden: Only when my father is telling stories.
- Gunslinger: What do you make of this Doctor Junkenstein?
- Shield-maiden: Never trust the scientist.
- Shield-maiden: What brings you here, Gunslinger?
- Gunslinger: People hire me to hunt monsters. Werewolves, Vampires, Witches, talkative scientists...
Gunslinger (Cassidy) and Soldier (Soldier: 76)
- Gunslinger: Didn't expect to find an American so far from home. You fight in the war?
- Soldier: There's a man like me fighting in every war.
- Gunslinger: You seem awful familiar. You sure we haven't met before?
- Soldier: Maybe in another life.
- Gunslinger: So, where are you from, back home?
- Soldier: I don't stay in one place for too long, came from a town called Bloomington, Indiana.
(If Ana is in the team)
- Gunslinger: You don't seem like someone who'd put his faith in alchemy.
- Soldier: You have to believe in something. May as well be the thing that keeps you alive.
- Gunslinger: You ask me, you pump something full of these chemicals, electricity and whatnot, that's not a man, that's a monster.
- Soldier: Maybe so, or maybe they're not as different as you'd think.
(Junkenstein's Monster is eliminated)
- Soldier: What was that thing?
- Gunslinger: I'm... trying to put it out of my mind.
- Soldier: Everyone's still alive?
- Gunslinger: Seems so. That or the afterlife is a big disappointment.
Gunslinger (Cassidy) and Swordsman (Genji)
- Gunslinger: We're both a long way from home.
- Swordsman: Where is home, for either of us?
Gunslinger (Cassidy) and Viking (Torbjörn)
- Gunslinger: The Summoner wields dragon magic, but how?
- Viking: There are those who would give their souls to serve those beasts!
- Gunslinger: But, how did you really lose your eye?
- Viking: My people tend to do some crazy nights!/An eventful wedding!/I was thirsty, so I traded it to an old man for a drink from his well.
- Gunslinger: Dragon took your arm?
- Viking: Aye, burned it clean off!
- Gunslinger: And the eye?
- Viking: Tavern brawl!
Gunslinger (Cassidy) and Will-o'-the-wisp (Tracer)
- Will-o'-the-wisp: I'm surprised to see you taking a side in this fight.
- Gunslinger: I'm going to be well paid!
- Will-o'-the-wisp: what happened to your arm, Gunslinger?
- Gunslinger: It was claimed by a darker power.
- Will-o'-the-wisp: You seem like a man haunted by the past.
- Gunslinger: How can you tell?
- Will-o'-the-wisp: Haunting is something of a speciality of mine.
- Gunslinger: Ever heard the story of that giant ape, that terrorizes the countryside?
- Will-o'-the-wisp: Ooh, he sounds awfully scary!
Monk (Zenyatta) and Shield-maiden (Brigitte)
- Shield-maiden: Is it magic what you do?
- Monk: It is not magic, but the power of the spirit that I channel.
Monk (Zenyatta) and Swordsman (Genji)
- Monk: A pause in the battle? An oportunity to recenter our minds.
- Swordsman: I am centered.
- Monk: Take care that you do not spend yourself before the battle is done.
- Swordsman: I am only just getting started.
- Swordsman: It is strange to see you taking part in the battle, Master.
- Monk: There are times even I cannot stand by.
Monk (Zenyatta) and Viking (Torbjörn)
- Viking: A think of mine that these of Dr. Junkenstein's creations reminds me of your own.
- Monk: You wound me!
- Viking: Is that even possible?
- Monk: You blame yourself for the Dragon's reign of terror, but it is not your fault.
- Viking: You weren't there, monk! You don't know about my failures.
- Monk: Rarely has my path crossed a warrior as cheerful as you.
- Viking: When you've seen as much as I have, either you laugh or you go mad.
Monk (Zenyatta) and Will-o'-the-wisp (Tracer)
(If Widowmaker is in the team)
- Will-o'-the-wisp: How can you trust the Countess after she slew your master?
- Monk: Did I say I trusted her?
- Will-o'-the-wisp: Would you tell me more about your religion?
- Monk: Our purpose is to show everyone that in the Iris we are all one people.
- Monk: When I gazed into the Iris I found a great nothingness. It changed me. You must have experienced the same.
- Will-o'-the-wisp: That is not what I saw.
Shield-maiden (Brigitte) and Swordsman (Genji)
(If Zenyatta is in the team)
- Shield-maiden: Your master is a mysterious-looking fellow.
- Swordsman: I have learned much from him, but little about him.
- Shield-maiden: Why do you hide your face?
- Swordsman: So that others may look upon me without fear... or pity.
- Swordsman : Are all the warriors of your land women?
- Shield-maiden: Only the best ones.
- Shield-maiden: Your sword is magnificent!
- Swordsman: It is one of the legendary blades of my family, Ryuu-ichi Monji.
- Swordsman : What is stronger? the hammer or the sword?
- Shield-maiden: The hammer is more than just a weapon.
Shield-maiden (Brigitte) and Viking (Torbjörn)
- Viking: You're better than me in a fight, I grant you that. But I still have the edge on you in smithing!
- Shield-maiden: Meh, give it time...
- Shield-maiden: Looks like I'll be watching your back tonight, Papa.
- Viking: It's good to fight alongside someone I know I can trust!
- Shield-maiden: How goes your search for the Dragon?
- Viking: I fought it once or twice. I have been lucky only to lose what I had.
- Shield-maiden: I'm not sure if Mama would feel the same.
- Viking: I'm still quite handsome!
(The Reaper is eliminated)
- Shield-maiden: What was that thing?
- Viking: A man who fell to shadow.
- Viking: Mind your defense, the battle is far from over!
- Shield-maiden: Always a critic...
Shieldmaiden: What do you think of the Monk?
Viking: I do not trust him, his powers, nor his gods.
- Shield-maiden: How fare you, Papa?
- Viking: I can handle myself! Mind your own battle!
Shield-maiden (Brigitte) and Will-o'-the-wisp (Tracer)
- Shield-maiden: Are you searching for a way to return to the world?
- Will-o'-the-wisp: Once perhaps, but now I'm at peace.
- Shield-maiden: What power binds you to this world?
- Will-o'-the-wisp: A magical catastrophe that tore my spirit from my body.
- Will-o'-the-wisp: In my former life, I would have gladly fought by your side.
- Shield-maiden: And I would fight with you in the next!
Swordsman (Genji) and Viking (Torbjörn)
- Viking: I hear you're an authority on dragons.
- Swordsman: Why do you ask?
- Viking: I hunt them.
- Swordsman: Then I believe you heard wrong.
- Viking: Touchy subject...
- Swordsman: I may need your help to repair my sword and armor when the battle is done.
- Viking: Survive the night and I'll do so gladly.
- Swordsman: She is no true dragon, I'll show you. The Summoner is one of your enemies?
- Viking: Anyone who would willingly embrace the dragons fire is an abomination.
Swordsman (Genji) and Will-o'-the-wisp (Tracer)
- Will-o'-the-wisp: I'm happy to fight at your side again.
- Swordsman: Let us hope that this time, it works out better in the end.
- Will-o'-the-wisp: Time has greatly changed us both...
- Swordsman: We are all of us, always changing.
- Swordsman: When this is done, we should fight together again.
- Will-o'-the-wisp: There are still many enemies roaming the world.
Viking (Torbjörn) and Will-o'-the-wisp (Tracer)
- Viking: It is hard to trust that which I can not see with my own eyes.
- Will-o'-the-wisp: I'd shake your hand, but we're a little busy now.
- Viking: Are you a magic spirit?
- Will-o'-the-wisp: Just another cursed traveler.
- Will-o'-the-wisp: I heard rumors that you've slain a dragon.
- Viking: Never slain, but I will! Or I will die in the attempt!
Unknown
- Soldier: Tonight we're all soldiers!
- Soldier: In my younger days I'd have hardly broken a sweat, but those days are over.
