The Overwatch Anniversary, also known as Year One, is an event in Overwatch to celebrate the release of Overwatch every year.

The event also released three new arena maps: Black Forest, Castillo, and Necropolis, which are based on Eichenwalde, Dorado and Temple of Anubis, respectively.[1]


Trivia

  • Individual pieces of content reveals were done by different Overwatch accounts: the Dance emote reveals were done by the Spanish team, the Voice line reveals done by the English team, and the Map reveals were done by the European team, Skin reveals done by the South Korean team.
  • The new Eichenwalde arena map is inspired by Black Forest from The Last Bastion animated short.
