*[[Sombra]]'s hack does not remove the abilities of the Null Sector Omnics. Instead it will shut them down completely effectively stunning them for 6 seconds. They cannot move or shoot in this time. This also applies to the OR14's and Bastions meaning they will be disabled completely instead of just losing their abilities. The Eradicators will drop their shields if hacked but it will not break them unless they are EMPed.

Overwatch Uprising is a seasonal event in Overwatch. It started on April 11, 2017 and ends on May 1, 2017.[1]

Summary

This event tells how was Tracer's first mission as an Overwatch agent happened, when there was a riot started by Null Sector, exactly 7 years ago.

Story

From now until May 1, you and three friends must journey seven years into the past, joining forces as Tracer, Torbjörn, Reinhardt, and Mercy to quell an uprising on the streets of King's Row. A group of omnic separatists known as Null Sector has overwhelmed the area, and you must defeat the robots to liberate the city. The future depends on you.

To defeat this new threat, you’ll need to work together with your team, developing new strategies and adapting on the fly as the seemingly unstoppable force continues its assault. The robots of Null Sector will stop at nothing—so you and your fellow agents need to be prepared for anything.

Details

Get ready for the ultimate recall. Our latest seasonal event turns back the clock, giving you the chance to relive a pivotal moment in Overwatch history. Explore the stories behind some of your favorite heroes, unlock pieces of the past with over 100 declassified Loot Box items, or suit up with your friends and join Tracer on her very first mission in a brand-new cooperative brawl.

Starting today, all in-game Loot Boxes have been replaced with Uprising Loot Boxes. These special time capsules have been filled to the brim with mementos from the earlier eras of Overwatch—including Mercy’s "Combat Medic Ziegler" and Tracer’s "Cadet Oxton" skins, "Talon Widowmaker," "Blackwatch Genji," "Blackwatch McCree," and more!

As with our previous events, any Loot Boxes you earn or purchase will contain at least one skin, highlight intro, emote, spray, or player icon from the Overwatch Uprising collection. While the contents of each Uprising Loot Box are random, you can unlock a variety of these cosmetic customization options with credits in the Hero Gallery throughout the event's duration.

Game Modes

Two new event game modes were added "Uprising" and "Uprising (All Heroes)," each having 4 stages of difficulty "normal," "hard," "expert," and "legendary." Both game modes are PvE with 4 players facing off against a horde of Null Sector Omnics. The only difference between the two types of game mode (disregarding difficulty settings) is that in the classic Uprising the only heroes available are Torbjörn, Tracer, Reinhardt, and Mercy. Additionally in classic uprising skins are disabled and will default to their respective Uprising skins.

The game mode features 4 stages. The first stage is capture point where the players must go to a small point and defend it while they hack the Null Sector turrets to stop them from shooting down the drop ship until they reach 100%. In order for percentage to be added to the counter at least 1 player must be on the point at all times and no Null Sector Omincs can be present on the point. If no one is on the point a voice over will play reminding everyone that at least one player must be on the point to hack it. Note the hacking is different from Sombra's hack and is not related in any way. Once all 3 turrets have been hacked (as in all 3 points are captured) a new objective will pop up. The players must then rally at a newly dropped payload (Where it normally spawns in King's Row) and once all players are at the payload stage 2 starts. Stage 2 has the players defending the payload while it starts up for 4 minutes. During this time the payload can be damaged by the omnics. It starts at 100% and will go down after being damaged. At this point the Null Sector Detonators will spawn and deal 20% damage to the payload if they reach it. If the players hold out for the 4 minutes they will start stage 3 in which they now push the payload to its destination (King's Row Point B). The health of the payload carries over from the previous section. Once the payload has reached it's destination it will explode and open up the path to the final section. In the 4th section the players' objective is to kill 4 Null Sector OR14's. The first one will spawn directly in front of the path around the corner. The second will spawn up on the platform directly across from the first turreted Null Sector Bastion who is in the same spawn as the first OR14, but to the right instead of the left. The final two OR14's come out together on either side of the last defender spawn point in King's Row

Types of Null Sector Omnics:

  • Null Sector Troops - These are abundant with not a lot of health. These are the main enemies you will see and will be the primary foe you will see attacking you.
  • Eradicator - These first appear after hacking the first turret. They come with a small shield that covers their sides and a fusion cannon that fires like Genji's alt fire. They have a lot of health and cannot turn very fast making flanking easy. If their shield is destroyed they will move around more and shoot at the players.
  • Slicers - These first appear in the second section and go away at the final stage. They have low health, are fast, and will focus on attacking the payload. Their head hitbox is a little awkward, but it is the glowing gun that they shoot the payload with. When they get close enough to the payload they will either start charging or straife around it then charge. They have a small beam coming out of them when they start their attack, but until the beam starts glowing thick they wont do damage. They do fast over time damage to the payload. If a player or shield is put between them and the payload they will hurt them instead. They will not go out of their way to hurt players though only the payload.
  • Detonators - These first appear in the second stage and one appears in the third stage. They are large balls that are heavily armored and move in a strait line towards the cart. They have large health and their head hitbox in underneath their armor. If the armor is chipped of by doing enough damage to it then you can shoot into the molten core of it to kill it quickly. If deals 20% damage to payload if it reaches it. They are best dealt with by any sort of crowd control as they are not immune to any of them.
  • Bastion Turrets - These first appear in the second stage and reappear in the forth. They will move to a set position and set up in turret form. If they are taken out of turret form they will try to go back in as quickly as possible. They can heal like Bastion and share his damage reduction.
  • Bastion Tanks - These first appear in the third stage. They deal heavy damage like Bastion's ultimate and share his damage reduction. They can be pretty unpredictable as far as pathing goes.
  • OR14s - There are only 4 of these in the forth stage. They are your primary objective and the players win when all 4 are dead. They have access to all of Orisa's abilities.

Character Notes:

  • Sombra's hack does not remove the abilities of the Null Sector Omnics. EMP also completely destroys detonators instead of just disabling them.
  • Mei can freeze the Detonators despite them looking like they are lava.
