A Play of the Game (or PotG) is an action taken by a player in a match that is determined, by an algorithm, to be game-changing. A Play of the Game is featured at the end of every match, and is shown in the perspective of the player who took the action.

In Competitive Play, a variant known as Play of the Match is shown instead; showing the most game-changing action in all of the games played within a match.

Types[edit | edit source]

There are various types of PotGs:

  • High Score: Features large killstreaks or multikills.
  • Lifesaver: Features actions taken to prevent a teammate from elimination.
  • Shutdown: Features an action taken to prevent an enemy from doing something of large impact, such as using an Ultimate ability.
  • Sharpshooter: Features difficult kills, determined by speed, accuracy, and other factors.
