Anyone know what real life player shes based off?

  • I think she was based on gamers in general, not any specific one. --Krupam (talk)--

"Dva" staing for "two" in Russian is very unlikely intentional, it's more like an interesting coincidence. First, there is no basis for her to be affiliated with something in Russian, and second, the word would be used incorrectly. "Dva" is either a neutral form (for example when counting "one, two, three"), or an assigned numeral ("pilot number two"). The correct form to refer to her and her mech would be "Dvoye" - "two of them". Zhnigo (talk) 16:25, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

Hana Song seems to be an actor as well. there are several movieposters on Hollywood with her pic and name on it.

  • Filled that in on the story section, thanks ^^ --Krupam (talk)--

Added talk section about Muv-Luv Fortified Suit resemblance[]

The character's suit bears an uncanny resemblance to the MLU/A Fortified Suit, designed to interface the user to their mechs. For comparison, see Pilot_Systems#Fortified_Suit_Types on MuvLuv Wikia - would this fit into Trivia? 5.60.75.29 15:20, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

I believe our policy on that is that we only add lookalikes if it's been verified to be the inspiration or a homage. --Fuzzlepuzzle (talk) 15:25, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Added section concerning Song's forename[]

D.Va's name is Hana Song, 'Hana' is a normal name in Korea, but also means number one in the Korean Language. This could be purposely chosen to represent Song's competitive gamer nature.

Defense matrix[]

Overwatch abilities often have surprising quirks that players do not realize. I think the wiki should be a place to document those quirks, including projectiles that cannot be eaten by DM.

*Unlike most projectiles, Concussive Blast is unaffected by {{al|Defense Matrix}}. However, it is still affected by {{al|Kinetic Grasp}}

This was personally tested by me on April 27 2020 in workshop. I'll double check, and if there is any indication on workshop possibly being buggy in this regard I will change my testing methods. MomoRuns (talk) 16:49, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

That list exists and is on the Projectile page. Lightning laxus (talk) 17:57, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
Ok the workshop mode I built to test has a flicker where the bot is not correctly using defense matrix. Thank you for the correction Lightning laxus. I'll have to fix my tests. MomoRuns (talk) 17:02, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

D.Va's APM[]

I was wondering, in her best case scenario of 84,480 APM from her Defense Matrix, how was this calculated to get that kind of number? is there a formula or calculator for it?CNBA3 (talk) 17:40, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
