==Formatting for Sombra== (Do you use the Slack chat, or have another way of faster communication?) I think the in-universe references and out-of-universe ARG are different enough to be different categories entirely. :) Separating what is canon and known to the characters themselves from what is Sombra talking "to" the player makes things less confusing, imo. Are you alright with me breaking those up into different categories like before? --Fuzzlepuzzle (talk) 03:18, 5 August 2016 (UTC) :Well, the story section already references what little in-universe information we have from an appropriate in-universe perspective. I think that separating "pre-release viral marketing" from her actual story is important, especially since this page will innevitably see massive changes when she gets revealed as the 23rd hero. And I personally consider the various in-universe hints as falling under the umbrella of "viral marketing." :For the most part I've been formatting all of that stuff with the assumption that the "alternate reality game" section will be replaced with a short summary and a link to either a seperate article (such as Sombra alternate reality game or Sombra ARG campaign timeline) or subpage (such as Sombra/ARG) specifically detailing the pre-release viral marketing and ARG campaign. It's definitely worth having a full timeline of the ARG, but it'll be way too much clutter for a hero article also including her abilities, cosmetics, and a detailed overview of her story. Making a seperate article to archive the information is probably the way to go, but I think for the time being it should be centralized on her page in a single section. :So, that's been my thinking. Perhaps a better solution is to figure out more appropriate names for the section headers? Placing it all under the umbrella of "alternate reality game" is probably not accurate. Perhaps "pre-release promotion" instead? I'm looking into wikipedia and wiki articles for other ARG tie-in games at the moment to get some ideas, and I'm thinking the current sections (alternate reality game > in-universe hints / ARG puzzles / developer comments) could perhaps be changed to (pre-release promotion > in-universe hints > alternate reality game > developer comments). Thoughts? Amaranth Sparrow (talk) 04:51, 5 August 2016 (UTC) ::I like the idea of a page after her release. ::My problem with your reasoning, I think, is that I see the in-game/comic references as entirely separate from the ARG, and I'd still want the newspaper, terminal, etc. to be on her main page after release, because they'll probably still be relevant to her story. It's more storytelling than promotion/viral marketing. Junkrat and Roadhog's video is still in Dorado and the Shrike mask photo hasn't been taken out yet, so I think it's safe to say that they'll still be in-game after her release. And none of the "in-universe" things have been used in the ARG yet, to my knowledge. ::Developer comments could still go under the ARG header -- I mostly split those two up because I like the aesthetic of the double-equals more than the triple-equals. --Fuzzlepuzzle (talk) 05:10, 5 August 2016 (UTC) :::Right, but if you look at Ana's page, or Junkrat's or Roadhog's, or 76's, they don't have sections dedicated to pre-release hints or easter eggs. It's either contained in trivia or woven into their story sections. These little easter eggs, even if they do tie into her overall story, are just that: easter eggs. If she infiltrated LumeriCo at some point, and we get information on it, that'll be a part of her story section. It's a bit different for Sombra as she's had a dedicated viral marketing campaign that arguably dates all the way back to Ellohime's pre-beta stream, with lots of hints spread out across multiple pieces of media. :::Also, the "skycode" found on the Dorado map's skybox is part of the most recent ARG puzzle, so there's certainly crossover between game and ARG now. Amaranth Sparrow (talk) 05:22, 5 August 2016 (UTC) ::::In that case, we should just turn the in-game references/hints section into the story section, and we'll expand upon it with new information when she's announced. It'd basically just mean removing the bullet points and tidying up the writing a bit. It's already the the same information that's in the story section, just expanded. (Which is why originally the story section was called the summary. :P) ::::Crossover between the game and the ARG, but not between the information on Sombra in-game and the ARG, which is what I meant. No hidden things in the terminals, or secrets on her newspaper page, etc. Sorry for the confusion. --Fuzzlepuzzle (talk) 05:30, 5 August 2016 (UTC) :::Well, I wasn't the one who changed the name of the summary section. Personally, I feel like these easter eggs are so minor from a story perspective that they're not really worth mentioning in the story section at all. "She was the subject of a newspaper article in Dorado." That's really all it adds up to right now, and I don't think that's notable in the context of "story." Now, if what you're basically saying is you want the in-universe hints section and the easter eggs to be removed or, at least, moved into the trivia section, I suppose that's fine, since that's more in line with other character articles. :::Personally, I'd like it kept with the rest of the pre-release promotional stuff where it is, and then for all of it to ultimately be moved into a seperate article detailing the ARG, as in my mind it's all part of the same timeline of Blizzard slowly teasing her out to the players. Since I don't think we're going to come to an agreement on this, I'd suggest taking the discussion to Talk:Sombra and trying to find a consensus among the rest of the editors. Amaranth Sparrow (talk) 07:14, 5 August 2016 (UTC) ::::I'm not sure how actively other editors check talk pages, but: Talk:Sombra#Pre-release_promotion_.2F_ARG_section. I've summarized the three options we discussed and solicited feedback to determine a consensus.
